Long Range Ultrasonic Testing (LRUT) is a non-destructive testing technique used to inspect pipes, pipelines, and other structures over relatively long distances from a single test point. It utilizes low-frequency ultrasonic waves that can travel significant distances through materials, allowing for the inspection of several meters of piping from a single location. LRUT is particularly useful for inspecting pipelines that are difficult to access or where conventional ultrasonic testing methods are impractical. By analyzing the ultrasonic wave reflections, technicians can detect and locate defects such as corrosion, wall loss, and cracks, providing valuable information for maintenance and integrity assessments.
