The North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) project in the Philippines is a significant infrastructure initiative aimed at improving transportation and connectivity, particularly in the densely populated Greater Manila Area (Metro Manila). Here are some key points about the NSCR project:
  1. Objective: The primary goal of the NSCR project is to establish a commuter railway system that connects various provinces north and south of Metro Manila to alleviate traffic congestion, provide faster travel options, and enhance overall mobility in the region.
  2. Phases: The NSCR project is being implemented in several phases:
    • Phase 1: North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) – South Line, which involves the construction of a railway line from Tutuban in Manila to Los Baños, Laguna.
    • Phase 2: NSCR – North Line, which extends the railway further north from Tutuban to Malolos, Bulacan.
Phase 3: Extension of the North Line from Malolos to Clark International Airport in Pampanga.
